What is a cookie?
A cookie is small bit of information stored about the user of the website or the machine of the user
Some of the information stored is sent automatically when you request the website, for example what address your machine is at (so the responding server knows where to send the website files to). Other information is obtained at a later point, such as your name if you enter it in to the website.
Cookies active on Main Site:
Session ID: When you first come to the site it identifies you by a unique number that is autogenerated. This number is stored in the servers memory. This is where your cookie data will be stored.
Cookie Notification: The first time the site is refreshed or the user of the site closes the notification it sets the value of the cookie so that the notfication has been sent to the user.
Calendar Date: If you change the date of the calendar, the new date is stored in a cookie to be used later when the page reloads to display the new date.
Cookies active on Lyme Forum
Username: When you log in to the forum your username is stored in a cookie so that the forum can track which user has logged in.
Privacy Policy (Forum)
Your data (username, password and posts along with other data related to the use of the forum) is stored on the forum server and is never shared with any other third party outside of Lyme Racing Club.
Your data (in terms of the forum) is only used for the purposes of the forum and the club may use the data (posts) to base disciplinary action upon a member for inapropriate behaviour.
Privacy Policy (Lyme RC Website)
As a club member your information may be shared on the club website, social media pages or in emails sent by the club. This data will only be shared in the event that either you are a club volunteer, have participated in a race or challenge event or have recorded a major achievement. This data will be limited to your name, race results (if applicable) and details of your achievement. Limited further information about you may be included; for example, whether you have participated in a juniors’ race or a women’s race.
Log Data
Like many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site ("Log Data").
This Log Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics.
In addition, we may use third party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor and analyze this data to help us better understand our audience and their engagment with the site.
